ASTD Announces Content Partnership with Train for Success.
From Knoxville Kiergarten, Director of ASTD's presence in Second Life:
"Starting in August 2008, ASTD will enter into a SL content partnership with Train For Success. Anders Wildcat and his group will be presenting advanced SL topics every Thursday at noon Eastern time. This change in format was discussed in the weekly ASTD Island meetings over the past several weeks, and the active users gave their approval.
By combining the forces of ASTD and Train For Success, ASTD is going to be able to provide a clear learning path from absolute beginner to very advanced learner. It will also allow ASTD to concentrate on maintaining its orientation portal for newbies at http://secondlife.astd.org , which has proven to be an overwhelming success.
It's very exciting and I hope you help me in spreading the word!! Take care and hope to see you at the appropriate meeting - the ASTD Island meetup for beginners on Wednesdays, or the Train for Success meetup for advanced users on Thursdays."

More about ASTD in Second Life
ASTD created a presence in Second Life to help ASTD members have the best possible first-time experience with 3D virtual worlds. Participate in ASTD's "easy on-ramp" into virtual worlds by completing orientation within the Second Life Virtual World!

Second Life is one of many 3D virtual worlds that can improve communication, learning and understanding between people that would otherwise be separated by geography, personality type, or work title.
ASTD acknowledges that 3D communication tools offer the potential for richer communication than 2D tools such as email, instant messaging, and blogs. Virtual environments and relationships will almost certainly be part of learning in the future.
