Conference Tips:
On a still and clear night, one of the best places to be in DC is at the Jefferson Memorial. First, spend some time admiring one of the greatest minds in U.S. history by reading some of Jefferson's famous quotes. Then, go out to the steps leading down to the Tidal Basin and reflect on what you've just read. At the same time, capture the night scene with the reflection of the Washington Memorial in the calm water. - Wei
One of my many favorite places to visit is the National Zoo. The 163-acre zoological park features more than 400 different species of animals. Among some of my favorites are the giant pandas, lions, giraffes, tigers, monkeys, and sea lions. What's your favorite? Whatever it is, I bet you will find it there! The best part is admission is free. For more information visit nationalzoo.si.edu. - Nicole
In the mood for Indian food? My favorite is Rasika in the Penn Quarter and very close to the convention center. The food is contemporary and delicious in a very cool atmosphere. For more information visit www.rasikarestaurant.com - Elizabeth Hannah, Director, ASTD Certificate Programs
In the springtime, one of my favorite things to do in DC is to visit the U.S. Botanic Garden. It is located on the west side of the U.S. Capitol building, so it is convenient if you would also like to visit the Capitol. Admission is free, like many activities in DC, and it is a relaxing respite amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. For more information please visit, www.usbg.gov. - Lauren
