2010 ALC Chapter Session Facilitator Planning Questions:
- What programs or initiatives does our chapter have in place that other chapters would like to hear about?

The ALC room rate is $195 single/double. The cut-off date for room registration is September 8, 2010. You must specify “ASTD Chapter Leaders Conference” when making your reservation to guarantee this special rate.
Note: There are two Marriott sites in Crystal City. Be sure to ask for the "Crystal Gateway Marriott" when calling to make reservations.
Transportation and Restaurants
The Marriott is located in an area of Arlington, Virginia known as Crystal City. Crystal City boasts some of the city's hottest destination restaurants, a synergy of sidewalk cafes and diverse shopping. Click here for a guide to Crystal City. Although most is within walking distance, the Metro is nearby if you wish to explore other areas of Washington DC.

The ALC Program Advisory Committee is now accepting session proposals. ALC provides chapter leaders with a strategic and concentrated opportunity to learn how to be more effective in their respective chapter leadership roles. ALC provides opportunities for chapter leaders to partner with other volunteer leaders and national ASTD staff members to grow the profession and shape successful ASTD chapters.

Session Facilitator Benefits and Resources: Session facilitators are extended complimentary conference registration (a $195 value). In the case of co-facilitators, a maximum of one co-facilitator may also receive complimentary conference registration. Facilitators are acknowledged in the program guide and ALC website. Potential facilitators are encouraged to attend a webcast led by the selection committee on March 23 for tips on submitting a quality proposal.
Deadlines: The deadline to submit a proposal is May 31, 2010. A final determination regarding all RFPs will occur in early July.
ASTD’s annual leadership conference provides many opportunities for you to deliver your message to the nation’s top ASTD chapter leaders and presidents. ASTD has 130 chapters across the country, each led by a volunteer leadership board. More than 350 of these chapter leaders gather each fall in the Washington, D.C. area to network, share best practices, and learn about new resources to help their chapters run more efficiently.
