Tips From Chapter Coaches

 Dear 2010 Chapter President,

Congratulations on your leadership position! Here are a few tips to make sure the year begins as smoothly as possible.

  • Send your 2010 board rosters to your chapter coach so that all chapter leaders can receive important communications about chapter resources, including the Leaders Connection Newsletter.
  • If your chapter hasn’t done so already, send the contact information (person, board position, chapter name, and email) for the person designated to receive the CORE survey link for your chapter to your chapter coach.
  • Be sure to visit and bookmark the Chapter Leader Community website (www.astd.org/clc), especially the resources by leadership positions, to share with other new leaders.
  • The “Power of 2” joint membership campaign continues in 2010. Joint chapter and national members qualify for the special “Power of 2” national member rate of $169. For more information about this campaign and for customizable templates, visit www.astd.org/thepowerof2.
  • Check the 2010 Key Dates Calendar to note deadlines and special events for chapter leaders (www.astd.org/keydates).
  • Connect with your National Advisors for Chapters (NAC) contact: www.astd.org/nac.
  • Send any 2010 big event dates to Lisa-Marie Gardner (lgardner@astd.org) for posting on the chapter events page at www.astd.org.
  • Let us know if your chapter is celebrating a special anniversary in 2010 so that we can announce it on the Chapter Leader Community website as well as send you a special anniversary logo for your chapter website and newsletter. Thank you for your leadership! Best wishes for a successful 2010!
