CORE: ASTD Chapter Operating Requirements
ASTD Chapter Operating Requirements (CORE) are a set of performance guidelines designed to help chapters deliver consistent benefits to members. CORE consists of elements in five key areas: administration, financial, membership, professional development, and communication, which are necessary for running a chapter like a business.
Submit Your Chapter's Primary CORE Contact Now!
Submit your chapter's primary CORE contact now by clicking here. Each year chapters are required to provide national ASTD with its CORE point of contact for the new submission year. The CORE designee for your chapter will receive your chapter's unique CORE survey link and all key CORE news and updates.
CORE Membership Requirement: Increase in 2012!
The CORE joint membership requirement has been frozen at 30 percent for three years because of national ASTD’s sensitivity to challenging economic conditions faced by chapters. The chapter leaders and National Advisors for Chapters who worked on the CORE element update in 2007 originally planned for an increase in this requirement by 5 percent over five years to reach the goal of 50 percent.
For 2011, the requirement will remain frozen at 30 percent. In 2012, this will be increased to 35 percent and will continue to increase by 5 percent to reach the 50 percent goal. Please work closely with your chapter relations manager and NAC advisor to ensure your chapter is preparing to reach the 2012 goal.
