ASTD Content Licensing

What does licensing of ASTD Content entail? If you would like to use an ASTD published book, magazine, Infoline, or other published content in digital format without adaptation, licensing can be a convienent and economical solution for you and your organization.

ASTD has created several content packages (see below) that may be of interest to you. As the rights owner of all content published by ASTD, we are able to offer electronic licenses to post ASTD content to individuals, corporations’, or institutions’ protected websites. The license is typically for the PDF or audio/video download version of already published content—(whether the original was in print or electronic). One-year, renewable licenses are granted by fee, based on organization size/circulation distribution. This is an ideal way to create an electronic reference library that can be accessed by a department or an entire company.

Single-Use Permissions

A permission license to use individual pieces of ASTD content—for example, a book chapter, a single Infoline, or a T+D article—is available from Copyright Clearance Center. You must purchase the individual PDF from ASTD prior to requesting the license. Please be sure to have the ISBN and/or complete author name and title available when logging into the CCC site to accurately identify the content you are seeking. ASTD will not process any licenses for less than 10 units; these must be purchased through Copyright Clearance Center.

For collections of content of greater than 10 units, you will receive substantially larger discounts by licensing directly from ASTD. We are prepared to create customized packages of content for you, but you may be interested in one of the existing packages listed above.
