Terms of Use for ASTD © Copyrighted Material
All content copyrighted by the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) is owned by the Society and may not be reproduced, distributed, or transmitted in any form or by any means, including photocopying, recording, or other electronic or mechanical methods without the prior written permission of ASTD. Except in the case of brief quotations (no longer than 250 words) embodied in critical reviews and certain other noncommercial uses permitted by copyright law.
We often hear requests from customers who are interested in using ASTD content and materials on their websites as reference sources or for distribution in classes and workshops. Typically, you may reuse ASTD content in the following ways:

Posting content to your internal website

Distributing or photocopying material for a class or workshop

Providing reading material for learners in a formal academic environment or informal workplace

Creating an electronic reference library that can be accessed by department or an entire company

Reproducing in another publication or newsletter portions of ASTD-owned copyrighted material
To facilitate your ability to use ASTD materials and content in the manner described above, please contact the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC). The Copyright Clearance Center is responsible for managing rights and permissions use for all ASTD content. This includes T+D
magazine, Infoline, Learning Circuits, ASTD Press owned titles, research reports and more.
Terms of Use for CD-ROM Materials:
If you are a purchaser of the Trainers WorkShop Series books, you can modify or otherwise customize the slides and other materials in the purchased book by opening and editing them in the appropriate application. However, all uses must denote the original source of the material—presenting this content as your own work is a breach of copyright law. You may indicate that a document was adapted from the purchased book and copyrighted by ASTD. The proper form for this identification is:
“Adapted from materials found in Trainers Workshop book title [fill in complete title of the Book] published by the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), 20XX [fill in year of publication located on the book’s masthead page]. All rights reserved.”
For all other ASTD CD-ROM materials, except as expressly provided above, no part of the CD may be reproduced, included in a manual or publication, distributed in any form or by any means, or stored in a database or retrieval system, or posted to any Website or intranet without prior written permission. To receive permission to use these materials, please contact the Copyright Clearance Center.
