Essentials of Podcasts, Video, and Writing for the Web will take you through three key media you can easily develop to enhance your online learning products. Topic one will cover audio podcasts as a learning modality, topic two will focus on creating web video podcasts, and topic three will cover writing for the web.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
• Plan, script, and produce an audio podcast that achieves your learning outcomes
• Plan web video content for learning, using principles employed by television professionals that make your content easy to understand, remember, and apply
• Write blogs and other content that aid learning and stimulate collaborative interaction.

Jonathan Halls is Chairman of Talkshow Communications Ltd. Talkshow provides leadership and media production training. Jonathan also delivers workshops around Europe in the areas of leadership, communication, innovation and the future of the media. Most recently, Talkshow has focused on delivering skills training for major change programs in media organizations in Europe, radically changing their operations to compete in the new digital world. Talkshow has re-trained thousands of journalists in audio, video & web writing as well as coaching leaders to lead change in their organization through exemplary communication, based on emerging communication methods.
Prior to Talkshow, Jonathan ran the BBC's prestigious Television, Radio and New Media training departments in London. Under his leadership he restructured the multi-million dollar operation with a structural and cultural change process that gave trainers more autonomy to develop innovative solutions to more effectively train BBC staff to make better programs. Halls has worked as a media executive, journalist, talkshow host and trainer in Britain, Europe, the US and Australia. He has a bachelors and masters degree in adult education.
Halls has published numerous articles on media production, communication, learning, innovation and leadership. They include his websites, podcastersportal.com and icecreativity.com. His conference speaking has included ASTD International Conference, ASTD TechKnowledge, Streaming Media East (NY), PC World London, and International Newsroom Summit in Paris. Topics included audio, video and writing and communication.
Halls is currently finishing two books on media communication: The Liberated Journalist and Guide to Web Video Production to be published by the International newspaper association, Ifra Newsplex. He's also working on a book about Leadership communication titled The New Grammar which looks at changing communication in the workforce, scheduled for release in late 2009. Australian born, Jonathan lives in Central London with his American wife.
