Essentials of Emotional Intelligence
Tom Pierce, MBA, President, Pierce Management Development

This online workshop in three acts will open by defining emotional intelligence (EQ) and exploring how EQ concepts, researched and developed in management-science labs, are increasingly being embraced by management. During Act Two, you’ll learn how to assess and improve the two personal aspects of EQ—self-awareness and self-management. During Act Three, you’ll focus on the two interpersonal aspects of emotional intelligence—social awareness and relationship management. The facilitator will share how to assess the EQ of entire teams, and you’ll learn how to integrate EQ awareness into your training, coaching, career planning, talent management, and leadership development programs.

Audience:

Targeted to internal learning and performance professionals and external consultants who want a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of emotional intelligence, who want to learn how to improve individual and team performance by assessing and enhancing EQ, and who want to integrate EQ coaching and training concepts into leadership development, conflict resolution, customer service, or other workplace learning initiatives.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

·         Make the scientific case, the business case, and the learning case for incorporating EQ into workplace learning and performance solutions, such as training, coaching, career planning, talent management, and leadership development programs.

·         Assess the EQ of individuals and of teams

·         Recommend action strategies for enhancing EQ

·         Incorporate EQ concepts and awareness into your programs.
