Essentials of Adobe Captivate 4: Production Tips and Tricks
Kevin Siegel, President, IconLogic Inc.
Member Fee: $495
Nonmember Fee: $795
Do you want to learn best practices about production using Captivate 4? In this interactive one-day* virtual classroom workshop, you will learn expert guidelines to make your online learning the best it can be. You will be guided through “best practice” scenarios related to recording, adding interactivity, and working with audio.
To attend this program, you must have Adobe Captivate 4 installed on your computer (and you may use a trial version). This workshop is designed for instructional design professionals with beginner to advanced knowledge of Captivate.
Each participant will receive a copy of Adobe Captivate 4 Script Writing and Production Guide included in the registration fee. Written by workshop facilitator Kevin Siegel, this valuable text serves as a technical training manual complete with confidence checks and step-by-step instructions.
Because this is a software-based workshop, space is limited!
During this workshop you will:
· Experience the best strategies for adding interactivity using Captivate
· Gain hands-on exposure to proven practices regarding recording and working with audio
· Have an opportunity to have your own challenging production problems analyzed as “case studies” during the workshop.
Part 1 Topic Areas (first part of the one-day program):
- Recording best practices (screen resolution, capture areas, and font usage within text captions).
- Best practices for creating interactive Captivate simulations and how they are more effective than demonstrations (including how long your lessons should last).
- Production techniques that will cut your development time significantly.
- Editing problems on your slide backgrounds without having to re-record the slide.
- Getting the most out of Microsoft Word via "round-tripping".
- Correcting common audio problems.
- Editing your Captivate captions before you record a single action.
- How to create custom buttons for use in your Captivate projects.
Part 2 Topic Areas (second part of the one-day program):
The second part of the online workshop will consist of an Ask the Pro session. We’ll review the most challenging problems in Captivate projects supplied by fellow participants. Together, we’ll solve the problems or offer workarounds as appropriate.
