Chuck Appleby
Chuck Appleby is the President of Appleby & Associates. He specializes in working with senior leadership teams as an executive coach, facilitator, and consultant. He helps leadership teams build great companies--companies where the systems and culture allow people to achieve personal fulfillment and business results. He has worked with senior leadership teams in government, non-profit, and commercial organizations. Dr. Appleby is an Adjunct Faculty member at The George Washington University where he teaches courses in organizational development and action learning.
Bernadette Carson
Bernadette Carson is a Master Action Learning coach and the President of Carson Consultants. She is Vice President of Education and Certification for the World Institute for Action Learning, responsible for defining the certification requirements as well as educational programs that utilize the concepts of Action Learning. Dr. Carson is a Visiting Scholar at American University and the George Washington University. She has consulted with government, non-profit, and commercial organizations throughout the United States including Constellation Energy, Triplex, NASA, Rotary International, and Special Olympics Maryland.
Arthur Freedman
Arthur Freedman is an Organizational Change and Development scholar-practitioner. He is the Vice President of Research for WIAL and has consulted throughout the world. He is a Visiting Scholar, University of Pennsylvania and Alliant International University. Dr. Freedman received the 1994 RHR International Award for Excellence in Consulting Psychology and the 2007 Harry and Miriam Levinson Award for Exceptional Contributions to Organizational Consulting Psychology. His publications include: Harry Levinson on ConsultingPpsychology (2008); “Swimming upstream: The Challenge of Managing Promotions” (2005) in Filling the Leadership Pipeline; and “Action Research: Origins and Applications for OD&C Practitioners” (2006) in The NTL Handbook of Organization Development and Change.
Skipton Leonard
Skipton Leonard is CEO of the World Institute for Action Learning (WIAL). Skip, a consulting and corporate psychologist, has over 25 years experience consulting to organizations to help them develop their leadership talent and organizational effectiveness. Prior to helping establish WIAL, he was a Vice President, Executive Consultant, and General Manager at Personnel Decisions International in the Washington, DC office. He is a Fellow in the American Psychological Association and Past Present of the Society of Consulting Psychology. A frequent presenter at conferences and meetings, Dr. Leonard is also the author of 30 books, book chapters, and articles in professional and business periodicals.
Peter Loan
Peter Loan has trained, coached, mentored, and managed hundreds of executives and senior managers and leaders in national, state, and municipal government, and nonprofit agencies. He has served as Africa Regional Director with the Peace Corps and as the Director of International Programs for Sister Cities International. He has lived abroad for five years and has consulted in more than 40 countries worldwide. Peter is the author of books and articles on knowledge management, mentoring, human resource development, and global change.
Michael Marquardt
Michael Marquardt has trained over 100,000 leaders over the past 40 years in nearly 80 countries. He is the author of Action Learning in Action and Optimizing the Power of Action Learning – two books which have established him as a world leader in the field of action learning. Mike's achievements and leadership have been recognized though numerous awards including the International Practitioner of the Year Award from the American Society for Training and Development. Dr. Marquardt is Professor of Human Resource Development at George Washington University.
