Mimi Banta
Mimi Banta, a skilled facilitator and organization development consultant, has over 25 years of experience helping private, public sector, and not-for-profit organizations implement training and development initiatives that produce results. Clients rely on her ability to diagnose training needs, engage executives in development efforts, design and conduct training, and equip in-house staff to be effective trainers.
In addition to an educational background in Psychology and Adult Education, Mimi is certified to use a variety of tools such as the Career Architect, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, “I Speak Your Language”, and Change Style Indicator. She is also affiliated with Netspeed Leadership, Learning Tree International, and is master certified in Achieve Global products and services.
Elaine Biech
ASTD lead facilitator, Elaine Biech, has 23 year of experience with government, corporate, and nonprofit clients, including the U.S. Navy, NASA, Newport News Shipbuilding, American Red Cross, Lands’ End, and numerous other public and private sector organizations. She is the author or editor of numerous books and articles, including Training for Dummies, The Consultant’s Quick Start Guide and Interpersonal Skills: Understanding Your Impact on Others.
Kathleen M. Edwards, CAE

Kathi Edwards is an independent consultant, writer, and facilitator specializing in creating more effective learning environments and strategies. She is passionate about all aspects of learning, from developing and implementing high-level strategy, to ensuring subject-matter experts have the knowledge and skills they need to facilitate learning effectively whether face-to-face or virtually. Ultimately, everything she does is focused on those who matter most: the learners.
Kathi’s unique expertise in transforming the effectiveness of subject-matter experts who lead learning opportunities is frequently sought by national and international organizations in a variety of fields. In demand as an engaging speaker and facilitator, she is a frequent content leader for ASAE and ASTD on topics related to effective learning and working with/coaching subject-matter experts. In addition to facilitating the Training Certificate Program, she developed and leads, several times per year, the three-part webinar Essentials of Coaching SMEs to Facilitate Learning, part of ASTD’s ongoing Essentials of.... webinar series.
As part of her ongoing commitment to effective learning regardless of the setting, Kathi is a qualified lead assessor for the American National Standards Institute’s (ANSI) Certificate Accreditation Program. The program is based on ASTM E2659-09, Standard Practice for Certificate Programs, which is an American National Standard.
Kathi speaks and writes extensively on learning practice and strategies: for clients, in her blog the Learning Evangelist, and in a volunteer capacity for professional organizations. She is co-editor and a chapter author for the book Core Competencies in Association Professional Development, 2nd edition (ASAE, 2011), and contributed 22 of the ideas in the book 199 Ideas for Enhancing Learning Experiences (ASAE, 2011).
Prior to launching her consulting business in 2003, Kathi spent 25 years working in a variety of capacities for five distinctly different trade and professional associations. For a majority of that time she was responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation of professional development programs. |
Lorimer Fauntleroy
Lorimer Fauntleroy is the principal of Pinnacle Performance Partners (P3), based in Portsmouth, NH. P3 is a workplace learning and development company specializing in performance-based learning solutions. P3 assists clients in determining whether the cause of a performance gap is a lack of performer knowledge and/or skills. When it is, P3 creates a performance-based learning solution.
Since 2000, P3 has assisted ASTD in various capacities including a number of course redesigns and development, course review and oversight, and course facilitation.
Organizations for which P3 has provided on-site services since 1998 include Mercury Insurance, Image Point, ExxonMobil, High Point Regional Health System, Lockheed Martin, National Center on Education and the Economy, Ft. Campbell Army Base, Acupowder, The University of Tulsa, Luxotica, United Healthcare, American Express, Alphagraphics, International Truck, and others.
Lorimer holds a BA degree in History from the University of Richmond and an MS degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Tennessee.
Rebecca Grueneberger
Rebecca Grueneberger has more than 25 years experience as a trainer and organization development consultant. She has worked in a variety of settings including health care, telecommunications, academia, and government. Most recently, Rebecca was a senior trainer for the U. S. Senate Office of Education and Training. She is passionate about helping others learn and chooses fun, interactive tools to engage learners and improve their performance on the job. A life-long learner, Rebecca has an M.A. in Education with a concentration in human resource development from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and numerous certifications including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Career Architect.
Peggy G. Hutcheson
Peggy G. Hutcheson, Ph.D., president of The Odyssey Group, Inc., works with organizations in business, government, and the non-profit sector to build sustainable human capital systems and processes. Her career development, leadership, and coaching programs have been implemented globally.
Dr. Hutcheson has published numerous articles, co-authored two books, and is a contributing author to the Handbook of Human Resource Development and the Pfeiffer Annual. Her program to train managers in coaching skills, Coaching in Business, was recognized by Human Resource Executive as one of the Top Ten New Training Programs.
Peggy has served on the national Board of Directors for ASTD and has been President of the Greater Atlanta ASTD twice. She served on the Executive Committee of national ASTD’s Career Development Professional Practice Area. National Awards she has received from ASTD include the Walter Story Leadership Award and the Torch Award. Currently, Peggy serves as an evaluator for ASTD’s global Excellence in Practice and BEST awards programs.
In addition to her ASTD volunteer work, she is active in the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), where she serves as chairman of IEEE-USA’s Employment and Career Services Committee and is on the Innovation Institute Steering Committee.
Marcia Jackson
Marcia Jackson has been a trainer, facilitator, speaker, and management consulting for 14 years working with large and small organizations. She increases productivity with training that sticks. Her programs energize audiences to retain and apply new skills with interactive, high-energy, hands-on, and practical tools. Her clients invite her back again and again because she wows them with her energy, excitement, and insights while solving their business problems.
She is a certified trainer and facilitator with special training in the Five Factor Model of Personality, Skilled Facilitation, Organizational Development, Training and Development and Interactive Instructional Design. She has a B.A. in Sociology. Ms. Jackson has served on numerous boards, including the Charlotte Area Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) for 5 years. She was the NAWBO Team Builder of the Year and recently was named the Member of the Year for National Speakers Association/Carolinas.
Deborah Laurel
Deborah Laurel, training facilitator, has been a trainer and a consultant in the areas of workplace learning and performance improvement for over 30 years. She was adjunct faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for 20 years. Deborah is the principal of Laurel and Associates Ltd., an international training and consulting firm. She has provided train-the-trainer programs on a national basis for over ten years and on an international basis since 1998. Deborah is also a Certified Professional Consultant to Management. Twice published in the Pfeiffer Annuals, she earned her Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Nadine Martin
Nadine Martin has been an automobile insurance adjuster, trial preparation assistant for the Manhattan and Bronx District Attorneys, a rock climbing and backpacking salesperson, a member of the US Women’s Judo Team, a technology training manager for Northeast Utilities (a New England based utility company), the IS Learning Manager for LL Bean, President of the Hartford Area Trainers, a trainer/evaluator for ski and toboggan for Southern Vermont Region of National Ski Patrol. She is currently the supervisor for instructor development for the Southern Vermont Region of National Ski Patrol, a certified member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America, the holder of a National number of recognition from the National Ski Patrol and an independent consultant. She continues to be passionate about learning and helping people discover their personal power and help them to understand how to utilize their talents. Her personal mission statement is: “Help people discover, enhance and promote their talents.” Her favorite saying is: “Who is the boss of you?”
Nadine is currently the co-director for the speaker committee of the Information Technology Training Conference (ITTC). She also works with Fortune 500 companies, helping them to develop learning that is engaging and fun while ensuring that learning is taking place. She coaches trainers to help them to incorporate these concepts into their events.
Maureen Orey, CPLP
Author and speaker, Maureen is the owner of the Workplace Learning and Performance Group, a training and consulting company.
She has over twenty years of experience in the fields of management, training, human resources, diversity and leadership development. She works with organizations in many industries including retail, hospitality, academia, local government, manufacturing and professional associations. Maureen was selected to be one of the 2005 Businesswomen of the Year by the Business Advisory Council, and was twice named as one of the staff award winners for ASTD’s 2004 and 2005 Volunteer/Staff Partnership Award.
Maureen is the published author of two books: Communication Skills Training and Successful Staffing in A Diverse Workplace, and is currently working on her third book.
Maureen has obtained the certification as a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) with the American Society for Training and Development. She is certified in Servant Leadership from the San Diego Leadership Institute, and is a certified facilitator of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and Effective Project Management with FranklinCovey. Maureen has completed ASTD’s Certificate in Human Performance Improvement, and she holds a Master's Degree in Education from the University of San Diego and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, with a minor in Spanish, from San Diego State University
Maureen is originally from San Diego, and is a proud mother of three children. As a single mom, she is passionate about achieving a great work/life balance. She stays active in her local community by supporting her children in their various activities such as the Helix High School bagpipe band, Girls Scouts, ballet, and choir. In an effort to stay fit and healthy Maureen has earned her Black Belt in Tang Soo Do and regularly works out lifting weights and doing circuit training.
Julie Patrick
Julie Patrick has been a trainer, facilitator, and instructional designer for over 17 years. She designs and implements training and development solutions that help clients achieve their desired business results. As a former manager of a corporate university, Julie was responsible for new employee orientation, leadership and management, sales, client training, systems, and administrative training programs. Julie wrote ASTD’s Creating Training Manuals Infoline. She holds numerous certifications, including DDI, AchieveGlobal, and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Julie earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in Organization Development from Bowling Green State University.
Donna Steffey, CPLP
Donna Steffey is an international trainer, author, adjunct faculty at both Lake Forest Graduate School and DeVry University, and sought after speaker who helps organizations achieve their desired business results. Donna incorporates her 20 years of management experience to educate, inspire, and coach. It takes the right blend of information, introspection and humor to cause people to look at themselves and change.
Global organizations such as Marriott International, Barclaycard-UK, XIBI-China, Tumine Center-Africa and the Royal Australian Air Force, have found that after Donna’s workshops people were more self directed, customer service driven and mindful of their team participation. Sharon Wingron, CPLP
As President of Wings of Success LLC, Sharon has been helping clients achieve success by developing their PEOPLE since 2002. She is a dynamic, yet authentic professional who delivers engaging presentations, skillful facilitation, insightful coaching and relevant resources. Her practical and refreshing style stems from over 20 years of staff, line, and consulting experience serving in diverse industries, in corporate, service, manufacturing, union and non-union environments.
Sharon is often chosen to work with corporate clients because of the results she engenders by the depth and breadth of her business experience coupled with her learning and performance expertise. Sharon’s client list ranges from Fortune 100 companies to small businesses and includes Anheuser-Busch, Inc., The Boeing Companies, Crown Vision, Keller Labs, Microsoft and Wells Fargo. She is one of a select group of ASTD Training Certificate Program facilitators and is frequently called on to facilitate customized in-house train-the-trainer programs. She has facilitated learning on four continents and in 18 countries. She was specifically chosen to deliver programs in India and Egypt, as well as International Conference workshops, due to her cross-cultural experience and ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with people from around the world.
With a passion for learning and leadership, Sharon demonstrates leadership in the workplace learning and performance profession in many ways. She has been actively involved in the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) since 1996, having served on the ASTD National Board of Directors, as Chair of the ASTD National Advisors for Chapters, as President of the St. Louis Chapter and in numerous other capacities. In 2010 Sharon was honored to receive the ASTD Staff-Volunteer Partnership Award as part of the OneVoice Team which she chaired. She is one of the first 250 people worldwide to earn the prestigious ASTD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) designation, holds certifications in several assessment tools including DiSC, MBTI, and Brainmode Power, and consistently achieves top performance as an Inscape Publishing Authorized Distributor.
Sharon is an adjunct professor for Washington University in St. Louis and a contributing author to “Rising to the Top: A Guide for Success.” Sharon holds a Masters in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management, with a Minor in Psychology, from Missouri University of Science & Technology. Sharon lives just outside of St. Louis, Missouri on 5 ½ acres with her husband Mark, daughter Briana, their dog Brandon, their cat Willy Wonka and her horse TJ. She enjoys life and is thankful for the multitude of wonderful people who enrich her world daily.
