Q:  What is Test Selection and Validation?

A:  Part of an educational partnership between ASTD and ACT, this workshop is presented entirely via live 90-minute online sessions. 

Q:  When does Test Selection and Validation take place?

A:  Test Selection and Validation consists of five webcasts presented live each week from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. U.S. eastern standard time. The day of the week is based on the program start date.

Q:  Who should attend Test Selection and Validation?

A:  This program is designed for professionals who want to analyze their organization’s assessment needs and establish an effective testing program. Participants will learn to identify, evaluate, and choose a commercially available test for job placement, training and development, certification, and management decision making. 

Q:  Do I have to participate in all five webcasts during their regularly scheduled day and time?   

A:  Yes, participation in all five webcasts is mandatory in order to receive a Certificate of Completion and 0.75 Continuing Education Unit (CEU). Your attendance will be tracked based on your log in to the sessions.

Q:  Is there a way to make up a missed session?

A:  You must attend at least four live sessions (during their originally scheduled day and time), but you may make up one missed session by listening to a session recording on the course website and completing the appropriate coursework.

Q:  How much does the series cost?

A:  The course fees are $695 for ASTD Members; $895 for Nonmembers. All course materials for the workshop are included in the fee.

Q:  Can I pay for one registration but have a group of people from my organization participate in the course from my computer? 

A:  Test Selection and Validation is a highly interactive program facilitated by a live instructor. As a result, each participant must have a unique registration and log in. Q:  How do I participate in the webcasts each week?

A:  Upon registration. you will receive email correspondence from ACT that will provide instructions for setting up your machine, logging into the weekly webcasts, and accessing the resources on the course website. 

Q:  What resources will I have access to other than the live webcasts?

A:  Upon registration, you’ll be given access to the course website, which contains learning materials, bibliographic information, electronic resources, a discussion board to post and receive answers to course-related questions, and archived webcasts.

Q:  Is this a certification?  Will I be certified?

A:  No, this is a certificate program, a learning event. Certification is a testing event that confirms that skills, knowledge, or competencies have been acquired.  No test is given.
