Creation Station Speakers

PowerPoint & Workbook Guidelines:

Session Materials for Creation Stations at TechKnowledge 2012 consist of the following:

• PowerPoint presentation available as part of the Smart Phone app (the same presentation that you will use in your session)
• PDF of PPT file for attendees to download from a website
• PDF of  workbooks which will be printed for session participants as well as available  for all attendees to download from a website

Follow the Uploading Session Materials Instructions after you have prepared the following files.

PowerPoint Presentation (required):

Deadline: December 14, 2011

1. You must follow the PowerPoint Authoring Guidelines so that your slides can be accessed by attendees using various devices.
2. PowerPoint slides must be saved as .PPT (NOT .PPS).
3. Name your file with your session number only (for example, TU100).
4. All PowerPoint files will be uploaded to a website for conversion to the ASTD Smart Phone app.

• There is no limit to the number of slides but keep in mind that learners may choose to print your slides. The maximum file size is 20 MB.
  
• As always, ASTD sessions are non-commercial and your slides should reflect that policy. Slides containing self-promotional materials will be returned for correction.

NOTE: Your actual PowerPoint presentation file will NOT be available for download by attendees.

1. Convert your PowerPoint (.ppt file) to PDF.
2. Name your file as follows: session #_slides (ex: TU100_slides).
3. To protect your intellectual property, secure your PDF (use Adobe online Help for instructions).
4. Upload your PDF

NOTE: This PDF will be available for attendees to download on the ASTD TK 2012 conference website in two locations: attached to each session description and as part of a PDF package by track.

Workbooks:  Creation Stations only (required)

Deadline:  December 14, 2011

ASTD will provide printed Workbooks for Creation Stations which include worksheets, exercises, Job Aids, and resource materials to use after the session. Workbooks will also be posted online for all attendees to access.

1. The second PDF document to upload is the session workbook.  Be sure to include a cover sheet per the instructions. Use the Workbook Guidelines  and Job Aid Guidelines to design your workbook.
   
   This document will not be available on the mobile device app due to the small screen size.
   
   
2. Sessions should be learning experiences and your workbook should support learning.
3. To protect your intellectual property, secure your PDF (use Adobe online Help for instructions).
4. Name this file as follows: your session #_materials (ex: TU100_workbook).

TechKnowledge Workbook Guidelines

ASTD participants expect conference speakers to possess a level of skill that includes well-prepared materials. The Workbook is composed of a Cover Page, worksheets, case studies and other materials to support your content and a Job Aid that highlights key themes and steps. Please refer to the guidelines below to ensure that your workbook meets all requirements.

Printing and Copies:
ASTD will reproduce the necessary copies for your workbook as long as it meets the requirements and is received to ASTD by the stated deadline. Please note that all Workbooks will be copied double-sided.
