Session Description & Learning Objectives Review Email, 10/3/06

Dear TechKnowledge Speakers:

You may remember in your acceptance email we noted possible edits to your session description and learning objectives:

ASTD reserves the right to edit your session description and learning objectives for clarity, style consistency, and proper grammar for both the Conference Website and print materials. After the edits have been made, we will contact you via email asking you to (1) review your session description and learning objectives to ensure accuracy and (2) reply with confirmation or any updates or changes.

Edits have been made to the session descriptions, and we now need you to review your session description to ensure that any edits have not changed the intent of your session.

Based on our review, many of the learning objectives do not meet the learning objective criteria outlined in the Request for Proposals. The learning objectives have not been edited. Please review your learning objectives to determine if they meet the attached criteria. (NOTE: If Linda David has contacted you about your learning objectives, there is no need for you to review them.)

Your session track, duration, format, or target audience may have been moved to a more appropriate category. Please review these to ensure that you prepare your session based on the correct classifications.

ACTION NEEDED:

  • Go to the Speaker Portal and log in (directions are below). If you don’t remember your eCode, please use the retrieve function on that page.
  • Review your session description and learning objectives.
  • Reply to us that (1) session description is fine, and (2) learning objectives meet the attached criteria…
  • OR, if edits or updates are needed to your session description and/or learning objectives, please copy them as they appear on the web, paste them into an email or Word document, indicate the edits (in color so we can easily distinguish them), and email to speakers@astd.org by Tuesday, Oct. 10. Because session text in the Speaker Portal is read only, we will make the changes on the web.
  • Confirm your session track, duration, format, and target audience.

To access your session online:

  1. Go to the Speaker Portal http://s19.a2zinc.net/clients/astdcfp/tk2007/. Click on “Speaker Login.”
  2. Enter your eCode, which you received upon submission of your proposal and in your acceptance email. If you forget your eCode, please use the retrieve function on the login page.
  3. Click on “View Sessions” to view a list of your sessions.
  4. Click on the highlighted “Session Title.” This will allow you to view your session, but not make any edits.

We look forward to receiving your “okay” or edits by Oct. 10. Please contact us at speakers@astd.org if you have any questions.

Many thanks!
