Concurrent Session Speakers

Deadline: December 14, 2011 (no extensions given)

Session Materials for concurrent sessions at ASTD 2012 TK conference consist of the following:

  1. PowerPoint presentation available as part of the mobile app (the same presentation that you will use in your session)
  2. PDF of PowerPoint slides for attendees to download from a website
  3. PDF of supplemental session materials for attendees to download from a website (optional).

As always, ASTD sessions are non-commercial and your slides should reflect that policy. Slides containing self-promotional materials will be returned for correction.

Prepare your files as instructed below, then upload them to the TK conference website.


PowerPoint Presentation (required):

  1. You must follow these PowerPoint Authoring Guidelines so that your slides can be accessed by attendees using various devices.
  2. You must submit a separate .ppt file for each session - even if you are presenting the same session twice.
  3. Please add the session number to the cover slide for each file you submit.
  4. PowerPoint slides must be saved as .ppt (not .pps).
  5. Name your file with your session number only (for example, TU100).
  6. All PowerPoint files will be uploaded to a website for conversion to the ASTD mobile app.

There is no limit to the number of slides but keep in mind that learners may choose to print your slides. The maximum file size is 20 MB.

NOTE: Your actual PowerPoint presentation file will NOT be available for download by attendees.


PDF of slides (required):

  1. Convert your PowerPoint (.ppt file) to PDF.
  2. Name your file as follows: session #_slides (ex: TU100_slides).  

NOTE: This PDF will be available for attendees to download on the ASTD 2012 TK conference website in two locations: attached to each session description and as part of a PDF package*.


Supplemental Materials PDF: Concurrent sessions ONLY
(optional but encouraged)

  1. The second PDF document to upload is supplemental session materials, such as case studies, worksheets, and Job Aids which support your content.
  2. Name this file as follows: your session #_materials (ex: TU100_materials).

NOTE: These PDFs will be available for attendees to download on the ASTD 2012 TK conference website in two locations: attached to each session description and as part of a PDF package*.

Concurrent Session Materials Guide

Attendees will be given notice to download these files in advance of the conference.


Upload your three documents:

  1. Go to: 

    http://www.tk12.astd.org/tk12/public/speaker.aspx

  2. Login with your e-code.
  3. Click "Submit Materials"
  4. In the “File name” fields, type in the correct names for your files as follows:
    • PowerPoint/.ppt: type your session number (SU100) and upload your PowerPoint presentation here.
    • PDF of your slides: type session#_slides (SU100_slides) and upload a PDF version of your PowerPoint presentation here.
    • Session Materials PDF: type session#_materials (SU100_materials) and upload a PDF of your session materials (supplemental or workbook) file here.
  5. Once you completed uploading your files in the correct placeholders, please double-check your actions to ensure accuracy and correct file naming.
