Frequently Asked Questions
1. The speaker name I've entered in the search box isn't found.
- Ensure that the spelling of the name is correct.
- If there is no match, click on Add New Speaker and enter the speaker's full information.
2. There are multiple entries for the same speaker.
- Choose the one with the current email address.
3. I enter the bio for the speaker but it isn't accepted.
- Check to see how many characters are in the bio. If it exceeds 2,000 (including the spaces) the bio will not be accepted by the system.
- Use the Word Count function under Tools in Word. Be sure to look at the number for "Characters with Spaces."
4. When I click on "Submit" it shows that there is incomplete information.
- Click on each item that shows as incomplete and fill in any missing information.
- Be sure to save the updated information.
- Click "Submit" again to submit the completed proposal.
5. I don't see the submission verification screen after I submit my proposal.
- If you do not see the verification message, log in again and click Modify to see if your proposal has been saved. If so, make any necessary changes and resubmit.
- If the proposal is not there, it was not properly saved. Re-enter the information, making sure to save it and resubmit.
- Or there may be incomplete information. Click on the incomplete item and fill in all missing information. Save it and resubmit.
6. How do I login?
Your e-code is assigned automatically by the online proposal submission system the first time you sign in and create your profile, and is sent to you in an email. Please save this email for future reference. You will use the same e-code every time you log into the system this year and in future years.
The e-code is used to log into the system to submit or modify a proposal or to update your speaker profile.
If you forget your e-code, you may request that it be resent to you: Go to the speaker login page, enter your email address in the "Retrieve E-Code" box, and click on "Email My E-Code". Your e-code will be emailed to you. Be sure to enter the same email address you used when you created your profile. If your email address has changed, contact ASTD for assistance at speakers@astd.org.
Please keep this information and use the same e-code for each submission. Multiple e-codes for the same person are unnecessary and create confusion.
