Organizations are facing ever-more complex problems that need to be solved creatively and quickly in order to survive and ultimately succeed. However, 95 percent of all problem-solving teams are a disaster—solutions and strategies are painfully achieved and rarely solve the problem in a systemic, sustainable way.

Why?

Team members have not learned how to work effectively together or how to use each other’s experiences and ideas. In addition, the necessary leadership skills for problem solving are not being developed—or even encouraged. The diversity in groups becomes a source of frustration, rather than an opportunity for creativity.

Enter action learning

Action learning is a unique and rapidly growing problem-solving methodology. Each month hundreds of organizations start using action learning to not only solve their urgent problems, but also simultaneously develop their leaders, build great teams, and transform their organizations.

Indeed, the benefits of action learning are clear:

  • develops leaders
  • builds powerful teams
  • continuous learning
  • creates a learning culture
  • enhances systems thinking.

But a critical element in the success of action learning groups is the action learning coach—the team member who, through skilled questions and facilitation, enables the group to quickly develop great strategies while simultaneously building leaders and teams.
