Obama Administration Policy Impact on Feds

Absent from the President’s State of the Union speech were new programs with a direct impact on federal employees. The one exception was the new federal minimum wage for federal contractors participating in new federal contracts going forward.

A recent article in The Washington Post presents a helpful picture of Obama administration policies and positions with regards to pay, benefits, retirement, and other workplace issues. The chart illustrates how the administration’s policies have affected federal workers across a range of issues including telework, expansion of benefits, collective bargaining, limitations on travel and conference participation, among others.
