(From NST.com) -- The southern region of Peninsular Malaysia, and especially south Johor, is poised for a jobs boom. It is projected that a total of 68,000 new jobs will be created by year 2020, thanks to the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP).

With only a short time until 2020, the country's leading online recruitment portal, JobStreet.com, is working closely with Malaysian human resource practitioners in the southern region to help address this issue.

Recently, JobStreet.com's Human Resource Networking Event (HRNE) was held here to gather leading experts from various industries to share their views and new perspectives regarding talent management.

The event, called New Rules of Talent Management, was the third of JobStreet.com's four-part HRNE series for this year and was attended by some 80 human resource personnel.

Among the topics discussed was Malaysia's Talent Roadmap 2020.

"The Talent Roadmap 2020 encompasses strategies and initiatives towards delivering greater talent availability, in line with the ETP," said Talent Corporation Malaysia's chief executive officer, Johan Merican.

"As we have only a short eight years ahead, a cohesive effort by both public and private sectors is imperative to ensure our talent pool meets the needs of key industries."
