Larry Israelite is the vice president and manager of human resource development at Liberty Mutual Group, a global insurance company with more than 45,000 employees. Previously he held learning management positions in a variety of industries, working for Pitney Bowes, the Forum Corporation, John Hancock Financial Services, Oxford Health Plans, and the Digital Equipment Corporation. He also holds an MA in instructional media and a PhD in educational technology, both from Arizona State University.
While his track record in training and employee development is clearly impressive, you'll be relieved to discover that his writing style is perfectly down to earth and easy to take. Whether he's citing "Larry's First Rule of Talent Management"or simply telling you to "make up your own rules," Israelite gives you permission to shape your own course in creating a talent management strategy for your company.
Larry is the editor of Lies About Learning, a 2006 ASTD Press publication. He also contributed to Elliot Masie's Learning Rants, Raves, and Reflections: A Collection of Passionate and Professional Perspectives and The AMA Handbook of E-Learning Effective Design, Implementation, and Technology Solutions.
