This webcast is based on the ASTD research report, Virtual Leadership: Going the Distance Manage Your Teams. It will be presented by Karen Sobel-Lojeski, Assistant Professor in the Department of Technology and Society at Stonybrook University and Christina Mandzuk, Research Analyst at ASTD. The purpose of the report is to examine how organizations are preparing their leaders to manage virtual staff or staff in other countries. This Study is based on the analysis of a survey of 505 leaders that sit in managerial position or higher, and represent 15 regions of operation along with a myriad of organizational sizes, industries and country headquarters. Only 20 percent of respondents indicated that their organization currently offers training specifically for virtual leaders. This webcast will review results of the report and also discuss first steps organizations can take in building the critical role of the virtual leader.
