ASTD Chapter Leaders Conference Program Advisory Committee (ALC PAC)
Interested in becoming a member of the ALC PAC?
We are currently accepting applications for the ALC PAC. For more information, check out our chapter-related national committees at-a-glance document here. When you're ready to apply, click here for the online application! Applications for ALC PAC will be due back to ASTD by July 31, 2013.
The ALC PAC, a national advisory committee comprised of chapter leaders, is charged with reviewing session proposals for the ASTD Chapter Leaders Conference (ALC), recommending ones for selection, identifying programming gaps, and recommending topics and speakers to fill those gaps. The ALC PAC solicits conference sponsors, recommends keynote speakers, and serves as the host committee during the conference. ALC PAC members attend the conference and collect feedback from attendees regarding areas of success or improvement.
ALC gathers leaders from ASTD’s chapters to network and learn best practices for running their chapters. The conference provides the opportunity to network with chapter leaders and ASTD staff, to grow the profession, and to learn what it takes to be an effective, successful chapter leader.
ASTD is excited to introduce you to the 2013 ALC PAC:
Steve Maul, Chair Greater Atlanta
Halelly Azulay, Metro DC
Chris Coladonato, CPLP, Maryland Chapter
Denise Jedinak, CPLP, Central Ohio
Larry Straining, CPLP, Chicagoland
*Each spring the ALC PAC accepts applications from chapter leaders interested in serving on the advisory committee for the upcoming year. Ideal candidates will have served as a chapter president or board member and attended ALC while serving as a chapter leader.
Chapter Recognition Committee (CRC)
Interested in becoming a member of the CRC?
The Chapter Recognition Committee (CRC), a national ASTD advisory committee comprised of chapter leaders, is charged with identifying, recognizing, and sharing chapter best practices. CRC members recommend and select Sharing Our Success (SOS) submissions for recognition and recognize chapters for the Chapter of the Month (COM) distinction.
To learn more about the committee including how to get involved, click here to listen to our podcast with 2013 committee chair, Gale Mote.
Want to see how other chapters are striving? Click here to watch the webcast "Best Practices for Your Chapter: Where to Find Them, How to Submit Them, and Winning Chapter of the Month" hosted by the Chapter Recognition Committee.
Sharing Our Success (SOS): The SOS program helps chapters improve through sharing easy-to-use ideas, resources, and practices in the areas of communication, contribution to the community, membership, and the development of programs, products, and services. If your chapter has a best practice, sample form, or template to share, click here to submit your SOS best practice.
Chapter of the Month (COM): The COM program highlights a chapter each month that deserves special recognition. Recipients must be innovative, have had an approved SOS accepted, be CORE compliant, and have not been recognized within the past two years.
