Industry Study: Metrics in the Learning Organization

A few years ago, Dr. Allison Rossett and Dr. Jim Marshall from San Diego State University studied how people are using learning technologies. What they found surprised them, as it will you. One positive surprise, in the midst of others that were less cheery, was that new technologies appear to be encouraging more assessments.

When it comes to metrics for planning and evaluation, prior studies typically revealed more words than actions. Is it possible that things are different now, that new technologies enable more questions, more answers and more evidence-based decisions? Dr. Rossett and Dr. Marshall are conducting this survey to understand current evaluation practices and constraints. They will share their findings in future articles and presentations.

Please go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/learningmetrics to participate. Your responses are anonymous—and very much appreciated. Participation will not take more than 10 minutes.
