This dynamic program introduces learning professionals to methods that deepen and enhance learning and foster application and further learning on the job. Participants will learn to use structured and guided classroom, online, and on-the-job experiences; individual reflection; and group sharing activities to bring the reality of the workplace into the classroom and prepare the learners to apply what they have learned.

Accelerated Learning uses music, the arts, games, discovery activities, experiments, simulations, and reflection, and team building activities to deepen and accelerate the learning process. Participants will learn to apply the methods and approaches of Accelerated Learning in the classroom, online, and on-the-job to enhance and deepen learning and make it relevant to the organization and its goals. Participants will also have the opportunity to work on the design of a learning program or module during the two days. The Accelerated Learning cycle will provide a template for design and facilitation that makes learning programs more efficient and effective.

    Gail Heidenhain

Gail Heidenhain, president of Delphin and board chair of the International Alliance for Learning (IAL), the professional organization for accelerated learning, has been consulting with organizations around the world to design and implement strategies that enhance and accelerated the learning process. Her focus has been on the people side of the business—developing effective global leaders, high performing teams, and the intercultural competency and personal effectiveness to help companies thrive in the global marketplace. She spearheaded the DGSL (German Society of Accelerated Learning) three tier certification program that was implemented in 1991. She was the expert adviser in the development of a research project to test the effectiveness of accelerated learning at the University of Munich in 1992 that was sponsored by Siemens. Building on the success in Germany, Gail initiated the creation of standards in AL certification and accreditation in the U.S. She has served on the boards of the North American Simulation and Gaming Association (NASAGA) and the Organizational Change Alliance (OCA) as well as on the conference committees of ASTD and the National Staff Development Council (NSDC).
