Program Overview

Career planning and talent management are key functions of the learning and performance professional. Participants will learn to ensure employees have the right skills to meet the strategic challenges of the organization; align individual career planning and organization talent management processes to achieve an optimal match between individual and organizational needs; and promote individual growth and organizational renewal. The content of this program is based on the ASTD Competency Study and helps in preparation for obtaining the CPLP credential.

ASTD Certificate Programs are learning events and a certificate is awarded to participants upon successful completion of the program. No test is given and participants are not certified. Certification is a testing event that confirms that skills, knowledge, or competencies have been acquired. Attendance Policy

Participation in all originally scheduled days of the program is mandatory in order to receive the certificate of completion and 1.4 CEUs. Participants who miss more than two hours of the entire program will not be eligible to receive the certificate. Participants who fulfill the attendance requirement will receive a certificate at the end of the program.

    Bruce Runnfeldt

    Bruce Runnfeldt is the co-founder and President of InnerChange. Since 1987, he has worked with a wide variety of organizations providing creative solutions to talent management needs including recruiting and selection, onboarding, performance management, training and development, pipeline planning ,and career planning.

    Prior to 1987, he served as corporate director of training and development for Hyatt Hotels, corporate manager of training and development for Helene Curtis Industries, and worked as a training consultant for Abbott Laboratories and Organizational Consultants.

    In addition to this corporate experience, Bruce has served as a member of the adjunct graduate faculty in Management and Organizational Behavior at Benedictine University and the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. He has also provided services for governmental and non-profit organizations including Easter Seals of Metropolitan Chicago, the Veterans Administration, the Department of Justice, the IRS, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency For Planning, and the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago.

    Bruce is a graduate of North Park College in Chicago and received his master's degree in administration and organizational behavior from George Williams College in Downers Grove, Illinois.

    Suzanne Coonan is an experienced Human Resources leader, consultant and leadership coach. She has nearly 20 years of experience in the human resources field including past positions at an MBA school, a legal publishing company, a technology consulting firm, and at Hewitt, a benefits outsourcing and consulting firm. Suzanne has been recognized for her exceptional interpersonal, facilitation, coaching, and leadership skills .

    Most recently, Suzanne served as Vice President 􀍴 Human Resources at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, a not-­‐for-­‐profit MBA school dedicated to helping improves people’s lives through education. She was on the senior management team and was responsible for all aspects of human resources at the School including talent management, recruiting, leadership development, employee relations, HR technology, compensation/benefits, compliance and organizational development. She worked extensively with the schools board of directors and has a strong financial acumen with a track record of achieving measurable results.

    Currently Suzanne is Principal of an HR consulting and coaching practice. She provides consulting as well as leadership development and career coaching to experienced business professionals who aspire to reach new heights or find meaning and balance in work and life.
