Three weeks prior to the face-to-face component, you’ll join your peers in a private online community to complete self-directed exercises. You’ll be welcomed to the program, invited to network with your facilitator and fellow learners, and given access to the key program materials and resources.
These valuable materials include the ASTD Learning System Module 2 (Delivering Training), an online discussion led by your ASTD expert facilitator, and five ASTD Infolines: "Do’s and Don’ts for New Trainers," "Basics of Stand-Up Training," "Ice Breakers, How to Create a Good Learning Environment, and Managing Difficult Participants." You’ll continue your personalized learning experience by completing the elective course (online or face-to-face) of your choice to help you address your own unique professional development needs. Choose from the following options:
In addition to a core 4-day course and the elective (second course), you will be a part of an online learning community throughout the program, which allows you to access course materials, complete assignments, and reflect on your experience. You'll walk away with easy-to-use tools to strengthen your training preparation and delivery, and enjoy the benefit of learning with a network of colleagues. Upon successfully completing the program, you will earn an ASTD Master TrainerTM Program certificate.
ASTD estimates approximately three to four months to successfully complete the entire program.
Keep in mind the ASTD Master TrainerTM Program is a unique and robust assessment-based certificate program. If you are interested in strengthening your ability in training delivery, but are not interested in committing to the ASTD Master Trainer assessment component or timeframe, consider the Training Certificate program.
