In this interactive online program you’ll have the opportunity to “take the lid off” of Articulate Storyline® and look at its most popular features. Storyline is a powerful and intuitive e-learning development tool that both beginners and seasoned pros can leverage. This program will introduce you to the foundational basics of the software, and provides the skills you need to begin developing your e-learning designs quickly.

Audience

Although this workshop is most appropriate for beginners, participants should have a foundational understanding of e-learning design and development practices. No prior experience with Articulate products is necessary.

About this Program

Throughout the three 90-minute sessions, you will:

Explore Storyline’s features, tools, and functionality that allow users to design and develop learning programs within a single authoring environment.
Learn to use Story View for storyboard design.
Learn how to use Storyline to develop different kinds of media for e-learning.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this program, you will be able to:

Apply Storyline’s interface and workspace to your own development projects.
Leverage Storyline’s unique tools and features to build just about any e-learning program you can conceive.
Build a custom interaction from scratch using a freeform template.
Present dynamic content based on learner activity.
Apply the basic rules of publishing to Flash (desktop), HTML5, and the Articulate Player Mobile App for iPad.

Participants may transfer their registration to another seminar free of charge. The transfer request must be received in writing five (5) business days prior to the first day of the seminar for which you were originally scheduled. A $50 transfer charge will be applied to all transfers received less than five (5) days prior to the first day of the session. Participant substitutions may be made at any time with written notification to ASTD. If the substitute participant is not an ASTD member and the original participant was, the difference between the member and nonmember rate will be billed.

If cancellation should be necessary, written or email notification to ASTD is required five (5) business days prior to the first day of the seminar. You may receive a full refund, minus a $100 administrative fee, up to and including the 5th business day before the seminar. If you find that you cannot attend, and it is less than five (5) business days before the start of the seminar, you may send a replacement, with written notice to ASTD. If you are unable to send a replacement, you forfeit your registration fee. All credits must be used within 1 year from the date of issuance.

On-Site Offerings

ASTD can make arrangements for this program to be offered on-site at your organization. Your attendees participate in the same learning experience offered at our public workshops, but have the convenience of being at your site and the benefit of covering the material with company peers.

Facilitators

Kevin Thorn

Kevin is a self-taught, award-winning e-learning designer and developer with a passion for the art of visual communications. After retiring from the Army, Kevin embarked on a 15-year career in the corporate workforce. He earned a B.S. in Information Technology Management from Christian Brothers University.

Kevin’s current role is owner and Chief NuggetHead of NuggetHead Studioz, a design, development, and consulting business including e-learning design and development, illustration and graphic design, and training and consulting. Kevin approaches every project with the creative awareness and knowledge to take a project from conception to completion, and he can be found around learning communities on Twitter as @LearnNuggets, or at LearnNuggets.com where he writes opinions, reviews, and tutorials.
