  • Andrew Jefferson

    Andy Jefferson, JD, is President and Chief Executive Officer for The 6Ds Company.  He is co-author of The Six Disciplines of Breakthrough Learning and Getting Your Money’s Worth from Training and Development.

    Andy is a frequent and popular global presenter who excels in helping companies maximize the value they realize from their investments in learning and development. He is an accomplished executive with deep line-management expertise as well as experience in strategic planning, sales and marketing, productivity, and technology development.

    Andy views learning as a critical source of competitive advantage in an increasingly knowledge-based economy. He knows the challenges of running a company and making every investment count. Prior to joining The 6Ds Company, Andy served as the Chief Executive Officer of The Fort Hill Company, CEO of Vital Home Services, and Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of AmeriStar Technologies, Inc.

    Andy is a graduate of the University of Delaware and graduated Phi Kappa Phi with honors from the Widener University School of Law, where he served on the school’s Board of Overseers.

    As Principal, Barbara Goretsky provides consultative services to corporate clients in the areas of leadership development and coaching for leaders at all levels, training in HR-related topics, and teambuilding activities.  

    Her previous career as corporate director, leadership development at Northrop Grumman Corporation, provides the basis for her expertise in these areas and provides for practical application of best practices and cutting edge methodologies.

    At Northrop Grumman, Barbara was responsible for supporting the corporate leadership development strategy, with particular emphasis on designing, developing, and running Northrop Grumman’s core leadership development programs.  Additionally, she was chartered with designing the CEO’s annual leadership conference, 360-degree feedback processes, coaching and mentoring initiatives and various competency models.  

    Barbara has significant HR experience, both in leadership and organizational development and in HR generalist roles.  After joining TRW in Northern Virginia in 1985, Barbara started the training and OD function for the Defense Systems Group’s East Coast operations.  She served as Director, Learning and Development for TRW Systems Integration Group during the 1991-1995 and 2000-2002 timeframes, where she designed and implemented several executive development programs.

    Barbara has also held numerous HR generalist positions.  Prior to these positions, Barbara worked at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC in a management development/OD position and the Prudential Insurance Company in New Jersey.

    Barbara holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from the Pennsylvania State University in Journalism and Speech Communications, and a second Master’s degree in Human Resources from the American University in Washington, DC.  She is also a graduate of  UVA’s Executive Education  Program on Management Development, TRW’s HR Executive Programs at Cornell University and the University of Michigan, a graduate of Northrop Grumman’s HR Leadership Program at UCLA, and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).  She is the author of several articles including, Building a Talent Pipeline, T&D Journal, June 2007.

    Prior to becoming an external consultant, Barbara's corporate experience included training and instructional design for Burger King Corporation, Pizza Hut, and Electronic Data Systems (EDS). She completed her undergraduate work in consumer affairs and management at Florida International University and received a master's degree in human resource development, as well as graduate certificates in instructional design and total quality management (TQM) from Marymount University.

    Barbara is an adjunct professor for the master's program in human resources at Chapman University in San Diego. She has also served as a facilitator for the University of San Diego's master's program in executive leadership program. In addition, she is a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT), a certification awarded through the International Society of Performance Improvement (ISPI) and the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD). Barbara is past president of the San Diego chapter of ASTD and an active member of ISPI.
