1. Where does the ASTD Master Trainer Program™ sit on the professional development spectrum?
   The ASTD Master Trainer Program™ is a new offering from ASTD created at the request of training professionals. It sits on the spectrum of professional development between an ASTD certificate program and the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance® credential.
   
   
   
     
2. What is the unique value of the ASTD Master Trainer™ Program?
   Based on requests from both individual and corporate members, the ASTD Master Trainer Program™ is a unique combination of a training event and an assessment component. The program consists of three distinct parts giving participants the opportunity to tailor their learning, including an online Orientation, Core Course, and Online Elective. This program helps participants not only develop or strengthen their professional knowledge and skills, but also requires them to prove their ability and confirm their credibility in delivering engaging and effective training.
   
   
3. Who should attend the program from my company or organization?
   There are three types of professionals who will most benefit from the program. First, subject matter experts (SMEs) recently tasked with the role of training or the training function. Second, professionals with one to two years of training experience, who need to solidify their core knowledge and skills and prove their ability. Third, more experienced trainers seeking to confirm their credibility to deliver training. All participants will be required to pass the Knowledge Test and Skill Demonstration in order to successfully complete the program.
   
   
4. What will an employee participating in the program ultimately do for our company or organization?
   Once a participant completes the ASTD Master Trainer™ Program he or she will have the ability to lead or assist your organization in training needs assessments, training preparation, creating a positive learning environment, facilitating learning, managing challenges, and measuring learning. This individual will develop or strengthen his or her ability to select and deliver the most fitting training methods which means, ultimately, that their audience will be more engaged and your organization’s training events more effective. If you value a focus on practice and application, this program will deliver clear results.
   
   
5. May our company or organization verify a participant’s completion of and performance in the program?
   ASTD’s Education Department will keep an internal roster of all participants who successfully complete the program. Successful completion of the program will require the participant to pass a Knowledge Test and Skill Demonstration in the must-have abilities of delivering the most engaging and effective training.  Your company or organization may verify an individual’s completion of the program, but ASTD will not be able to provide any further details.
   
   
6. May I send a group from my company or organization?
   You are welcome to send a group from your organization. Please keep in mind that the program size is limited to create a more comprehensive and tailored learning experience. What you may find even more convenient and cost-effective is arranging for an ASTD expert facilitator to bring the program to you. Your attendees will participate in the same learning experience offered at our public workshops, but have the convenience of being at your site and the benefit of covering the material with company peers. 7. Can ASTD help us use this program in our onboarding process?
   Yes, ASTD would be happy to arrange an on-site delivery for your organization, and using it related to onboarding would very beneficial. We will have an ASTD expert facilitator work with you to closely identify your organization’s unique needs and lead the program accordingly.
