Ruth Clark is a specialist in instructional design and technical training, determined to bridge the gap between academic research and practitioner application in instructional methods. She holds a doctorate in the field and is president of her own company, Clark Training & Consulting. Her books and articles focus on various aspects of training and e-learning.

Cindy is the author of Virtual Training Basics (ASTD Press, 2010), and coauthor of two ASTD Press Infolines, “Simple, Effective Online Learning” and “Designing for the Virtual Classroom.”  She has taught hundreds of synchronous online classes for a variety of audiences. Her favorite passion is to help trainers deliver effective online classes. She assists clients on their conversion to virtual training through her consulting practice.

As Chair of ASTD’s National Advisors for Chapters, Cindy served on the national ASTD Board of Directors in 2009-2010. She was recognized by the Triangle Business Journal  as a “40-Under-40” Award recipient in 2003.    

Cindy holds a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. Cindy was also one of the first to earn the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) designation.

Barbara Greenstein

Barbara Greenstein, principal of Human Resource Prescriptions, is a performance improvement specialist providing proven and creative ways to improve human performance in the workplace. By identifying issues and opportunities for improvement, she helps organizations large and small meet their planned goals.

Barbara is highly regarded for her facilitation and instructional design skills. With over 20 years of experience in the training and development field, her mission is to help clients put the systems in place that will help them manage effectively in today's changing business environment while ensuring optimal performance and job satisfaction for all employees.

Prior to becoming an external consultant, Barbara's corporate experience included training and instructional design for Burger King Corporation, Pizza Hut, and Electronic Data Systems (EDS). She completed her undergraduate work in consumer affairs and management at Florida International University and received a master's degree in human resource development, as well as graduate certificates in instructional design and total quality management (TQM) from Marymount University.

Barbara is an adjunct professor for the master's program in human resources at Chapman University in San Diego. She has also served as a facilitator for the University of San Diego's master's program in executive leadership program. In addition, she is a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT), a certification awarded through the International Society of Performance Improvement (ISPI) and the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD). Barbara is past president of the San Diego chapter of ASTD and an active member of ISPI.

    This one-day live, online workshop provides a high-level introduction to Adobe Captivate 6 and 7. You will learn several e-learning best practices:

    • get insight into some slick Captivate production tips and tricks
    • receive expert guidelines to make your online learning the best it can be
    • be guided through "best practice"; scenarios related to recording, adding interactivity, and working with audio.

    To attend this program, you must have Adobe Captivate 6 installed on your computer (a trial version is acceptable). This workshop is designed for instructional design professionals with little or no knowledge of Adobe Captivate. Because this is a software-based workshop, space is limited.
