What is a Community of Practice?

Each community focuses on a key area of the training and development field and is led by a community manager whose in-depth knowledge will ensure that the content, offerings, and resources are consistent with your needs.

How many ATD Communities of Practice are there?

There are currently ten; the communities are organic and will change as the profession changes.

What are the benefits to joining an ATD Community of Practice?

By selecting into a Community of Practice, you will have a more personal and relevant experience with ATD. Content and offerings that appeal to you will be easier to find. We will also be working to refine our communications with you based on your community selections.

How do I participate in ATD Communities of Practice?

Visit the community page, comment on the blog, connect with the community manager, connect on our many social media channels, and share your knowledge!

How do I join a Community of Practice?

You may join a Community of Practice by opting into the newsletter in the bottom right of the community page. You may also manage your Community of Practice preferences under your community preferences tab under "My Profile."

Do I have to be an ATD member to join a Community of Practice?

You do not need to be a member of ATD to join a Community of Practice. Some Community of Practice content will be free, just like some content is free to the public on the ATD website. Other content will be behind the membership firewall. There will be five free-views of premium content allowed for non-members.
