Volunteering

As proven leaders in the field we rely on current CPLPs for help with the ongoing development of the CPLP program. This is to ensure that a quality program will result. There are a number of CPLP volunteer opportunities for 2015. Take a look at the information below for an overview of each of the activities and the 2015 schedule. To apply you must complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the attached 2015 Volunteer Opportunities Application Form and submit by fax or email to Pat Byrd at 703.683.7258 or pbyrd@td.org.

Item Writing

    Description:

  • Conducted once during the year. Volunteers are responsible for developing multiple-choice test questions for the CPLP knowledge exam.

    Expertise Requirement:

  • Must have Intermediate or Expert level knowledge and expertise in at least four Areas of Expertise (AOE).

    Format and Commitment Requirement:

  • Involves participation in on-site and/or remote activities.
  • Several dates may apply.
  • Volunteers must be able to commit to the entire schedule in order to participate and earn recertification points.
  • Participants must sign an Item Writing Non-Disclosure Agreement in order to participate

    Expertise Requirement:

  • Up to 10 points 

Item Review

    Description:

  • Typically conducted two times during the year. Volunteers are responsible for reviewing all newly developed CPLP test items for the knowledge exam.

    Expertise Requirement:

  • Must have Intermediate or Expert level knowledge and expertise in at least four Areas of Expertise (AOE).

    Format and Commitment Requirement:

  • Involves participation in on-site and/or remote activities.
  • Several dates may apply.
  • Volunteers must be able to commit to the entire schedule in order to participate and earn recertification points.
  • Participants must sign an Item Writing Non-Disclosure Agreement in order to participate

    Eligible Recertification Points:

  • Up to 6 points  

Work Product Scoring

    Description:

  • Typically conducted twice during the year. Volunteers are assigned as Raters (responsible for scoring candidate work products) or Team Leaders (responsible for rater training, scoring, providing guidance and adjudicating work product submissions.

    Expertise Requirement:

  • Must have Intermediate or Expert level knowledge and expertise in at least two AOE areas. Team leaders must have prior rater experience.

    Format and Commitment Requirement:

  • Must have Intermediate or Expert level knowledge and expertise in at least four AOE areas.
  • Virtual participation conducted via WebEx.
  • Anywhere from three to six hours of participation required (in some cases time is spread over several days).
  • Volunteers must be able to commit to the entire schedule in order to participate and earn recertification points.
  • Participants must sign an Item Review Non-Disclosure Agreement in order to participate.

    Eligible Recertification Points:

  • Up to 15 points

    Item Review/Item Writing: Meeting to Reclassify, Revise, and Revalidate Items

    Eligible for up to 10 Recertification Points

  • Attend one-hour Web-ex Meeting: Friday, January 9, 2015, 1:00 pm EST, AND...
  • Complete approximately 15-20 hours of independent work: Friday, January 9-23, 2015 (Both Web-ex attendance and completion of independent work required for recertification points.)
  • Must sign an Assignment of Copyright in Work(s) Agreemen

    Writing Exam Items
    Eligible for up to 12 Recertification Points

  • Attend three-hour Web-ex Meeting on either Friday, February 6, 2015, 1:00-4:00 pm EST or Saturday, February 7, 2015, 11:00-2:00 pm EST, AND...
  • Complete approximately 20 hours of independent work between February 6/7 and March 7 (Both Web-ex attendance and completion of independent work required for recertification points.)
  • Must sign an Assignment of Copyright in Work(s) Agreement.

    Work Product Scoring Workshop
    Eligible for up to 15 Recertification Points

  • On-site Participation
  • 3 – 4 day event
  • Must be available for all days/times.
  • Must be able to travel to Alexandria, VA.
  • Must sign a Raters Rules and Non-Disclosure Agreement.

    Team Leader

    March 12th-15th

  • Must have previous Rater experience.
  • Must have Intermediate or Expert level knowledge and expertise in at least two Areas of Expertise (AOEs).

    Rater

    March 13th-15th

  • Must have participated in a scoring workshop within the last two years.
  • Must have Intermediate- or Expert-level knowledge and expertise in at least two Areas of Expertise (AOEs).

  

April

    Item Review/Item Writing: Meeting to Reclassify, Revise, and Revalidate Items

  • Attend two-hour Web-ex Meeting on either Friday, April 3, 2015, 1:00-3:00 pm EST or Saturday, April 4, 2015, 11:00-1:00 pm EST, AND…
  • Complete approximately 20 hours of independent work between April 3/4 and April 24, 2015 (Both Web-ex attendance and completion of independent work required for recertification points.)
  • Must sign an Assignment of Copyright in Work(s) Agreement.

    Exam Review

  • Attend three-day meeting: June 10-12, 2015
  • 3-day event
  • Must be available for all days/times.
  • Must be able to travel to Alexandria, VA.
