ASTD CI has just completed trademark processing and as a result has instituted a new policy for use of the CPLP® certification trademark and logo. A summary of the policy is as follows. For a detailed copy of the policy please click here.
CPLP® Certification Trademark
- The CPLP® certification trademark may only be represented as CPLP® or as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance and may not be altered.
- Individuals who have earned the CPLP® credential may use the trademark by placing CPLP® after their name and in no other manner.
- Individuals who provide services related to the CPLP® program may use their own logo or graphic but the logo or graphic may not incorporate CPLP in it , must be clearly identified as separate from the CPLP® trademark, and must not suggest any connection with ASTD CI.
The CPLP® Logo
- Use of the CPLP® logo as a marketing tool for individual CPLP designee use is no longer permitted except in respect to the CPLP® lapel pin.
- Because we have two versions of the logo (operational and pilot pioneers) we are moving forward with implementation of the policy in the following manner:

Use of CPLP® Logo as it pertains to CPLP Pilot Pioneers

CPLP Pilot Pioneer’s who are currently in possession of the pilot pioneer logo and are using it on business cards will be permitted to continue its use through December 31, 2009. After that date all use of the logo must be discontinued.

Use of CPLP Pilot Pioneer logo in any other manner (on websites, printed material and other collateral) is not permitted and must be discontinued.
