This award recognizes an individual for a body of work that has had substantial impact on the field of workplace learning and performance. Over an extended period of time, this person has advanced the knowledge and practice of several areas of workplace learning and performance.
This award has been presented to Peter Drucker, Chris Argyris, Edgar Schein, Warren Bennis, Edward Lawler III, Henry Mintzberg, Donald Kirkpatrick, Howard Gardner, Charles Handy, Dave Ulrich, Noel Tichy, John Kotter, Bob Eichinger and Mike Lombardo, Jack Zenger, and David Campbell.
Criteria
Candidates will be evaluated on the following:
- the extent to which the body of work is based on original concepts and/or innovative practices recognized throughout the field over a sustained period
- the impact the body of work has had on the field of workplace learning and performance, including influence on practitioners, organizations, thought leaders, and research
- the extent to which the body of work affirms that people are value-added contributors to organizational success.
Eligibility
Candidate need not be an ASTD member if nominated by one.
Deadline
The 2012 application deadline is November 1, 2012.
Selection Procedure
Nominators will receive notification of the decisions regarding their entries by March 11, 2013.
The award winners will be honored at the awards ceremony during the ASTD International Conference & Exposition, May 19-22, 2013, in Dallas, Texas. Announcements of the award will be in ASTD publications and on the ASTD website.
