Contributor Guidelines

Do you have expertise in a particular aspect of performance improvement? Or perhaps you managed a successful initiative that others could learn from. If so, you may be able to be published by ASTD. We receive many unsolicited manuscripts, so improve your chances by reading through several ASTD publications to get an idea of their content and tone.

Books

ASTD publishes and distributes over 200 of the best titles on training, e-learning, and performance improvement topics. This is an excellent way to build your training and performance library of high quality, practical resources on topics that are relevant to your success.

T+D magazine

Trainers, HRD professionals, performance consultants, learning executives, chief knowledge officers, and countless others involved in training want practical advice for doing a better job. And that is what T+D strives to give them--everything from the nuts and bolts of instruction to the latest practices in enterprise learning.

Learning Circuits

Updated weekly, Learning Circuits's primary focus is workplace e-learning. Articles about learning technologies, how they're being applied in learning environments, and how they're reshaping the training and development profession are the online magazine's core editorial beat. The business side of e-learning (technology standards, mergers, acquisitions, IPOs, and contract awards) is a secondary focus.

ASTD's popular how-to series on the basics of training and development will get you up to speed quickly and easily. Each issue tackles a new training topic, and provides tips, techniques, case studies, worksheets, templates, and bibliographies. It's available for subscription.

The key area for contributions is the “In Practice” section. Practitioners share information about how workplace theories are applied on the job and to give firsthand accounts of what’s happening in the real world of workplace learning and performance. We’re looking for is success stories and lessons learned.
