Selection for ASTD Board of Directors
ASTD’s Selection Committee is accepting applications for three director positions on the 2009-2011 board and the 2009 chair-elect.
Individuals who want to be considered for these seats should submit their applications by February 25, 2008.
ASTD’s board of directors comprises recognized learning and performance professionals from a wide range of workplace environments. The committee is committed to ensuring that the board reflects a mix of the industry and that directors’ expertise aligns with ASTD’s strategy.
Consequently in 2008, the committee is particularly interested in considering senior leadership (i.e., chief learning officer, chief talent officer, senior business executive) from major companies and organizations who have global assignments.
As a minimum, candidates should:
- have credibility as thought leaders in workplace learning and performance
- advocate and demonstrate the connection between maximizing human capital and achieving organizational results and/or competitive advantage
- understand financial indicators and what, when, and how to measure learning
- have implemented and evaluated complex change and transformation
- have a track record of creating and implementing innovative solutions to achieve organizational goals.
The committee will review candidate backgrounds, select final candidates, and interview the finalists by phone. The committee will make its decisions by mid-June.
